Southampton, UK It has always been with great urgency, the need to create. I can say so much more within a sculpture, drawing, or photograph addressing issues surrounding the body, the feminine and the feminist. It is in the making of artwork that I feel and think clearly; a determined form of communication. My practice draws on personal, cultural and societal experiences and the processes and techniques I employ adapt accordingly. The body of work I have produced here in Cyprus depicts the sensual versus the skeletal forms in 2D and 3D, which I have observed in my environment. The observation of plant, natural and animal life with its beauty, symmetry and perfection as well as its defense, aggression, self-preservation and ageing has provided raw material for my work. I have attempted to address issues of beauty, surface image, consumption, desire and denial.
