Chance to meet artists at vaults

Publication: The Daily Echo
Date: Saturday, September 11, 2004

Underground artistry: Sarah Misselbrook with one of her works of art.

After a hugely successful launch of the medieval vaults art spaces in Southampton last month and more than 1,000 visitors in just five weekends, organisers have asked the artists to participate in a ‘Meet the Artists Awareness Week’ during the Boat Show. Usually the vaults are only accessible at weekends but for this one week the artists will make themselves available to meet members of the public. Two vaults, Castle Vault and King John’s Palace, will remain open from today until next Sunday from 10am until 6pm with the artists in attendance between noon and 4pm.

The three additional vaults will also have visits from the artists but times are still to be confirmed. The artists participating are Sarah Misselbrook, Michelle Aburrow, Richard Farrington and David McDiamid.

Visit www.artvaults.co.uk for further information on the project.
